This study aims to assess the impact of COVID 19 pandemic on the academic performance among nursing students. Objectives: To assess the level of impact of COVID-19 on academic performance among the Nursing students. To associate the level of impact of COVID-19 on academic performance among the Nursing students with their selected demographic variables. Methodology: A Quantitative approach -Non experimental, descriptive research design was used in this study. The sample consists of 37 nursing students, selected by consecutive sampling technique. Result: The major findings of this study is majority 21 (57%) samples had more impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 pandemic and 16 (43%) samples has less impact on academic performance due to COVID-19. Conclusion: This study concludes that majority of the B. Sc (N) students were had more impact on academic performance due to COVID-19.
KEYWORDS: Novel corona virus, Frontline care providers, Nursing education, impact, academic calendar.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE:
Kennedy Mwila et al. (2021) conducted a cross sectional study on impact of COVID-19 on academic activities of final year nursing students quantitative methods using a structured questionnaire among 196 final year students. Data were analysed using the statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 21. The study concluded that most students strongly agreed that COVID-19 caused failure to complete course content (32.7%) concept poorly taught (1.3%) delayed their examinations (86.1%) and prevented students from doing their clinical attachments (51.5%).6
Elaine written berg et al. (2021) conducted a qualitative study on covid-19 transformed nursing education and communication competency. B.Sc (N) students 197 members were selected as sample from four University campuses in the Pacific mid south regions of the United States. The study concluded that significant statistical difference was found across variable of communication, attitude, knowledge and skill across both modules.7.
Kebenesa Angasu et al. (2021) conducted a study on covid-19’s negative impacts on clinical learning and proposed compensation mechanisms among under graduate Midwifery and Nursing students of Jimma University. The study was conducted among 147 midwifery and nursing students of Jimma University using cross sectional study design. The respondents were selected by simple random sampling method. Data were collected by using a self administered questionnaire and analysed descriptively. The study concludes that three fifth 88 (59.9%) of the study participants perceived high negative impacts of covid-19 on their recent clinical learning.8

Structured Questionnaire:
The major findings of this study is majority 21(57%) samples had more impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 pandemic and 16(43%) samples has less impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 and Chi square analysis reveals there is no significant association between impact of COVID-19 on academic performance of B.Sc(N) students with their selected demographic variables.
Checklist:
The major findings of this study is majority 22(59%) samples had more impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 pandemic and 15(41%) samples had less impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 and Chi Square analysis reveals there is no significant association between impact of COVID-19 on academic performance of B.Sc(N) students with their selected demographic variables.
CONCLUSION:
This study concludes that majority of the B.Sc(N) students were had more impact on academic performance due to COVID-19 and there is no significant association between impact of COVID-19 on academic performance of B.Sc(N) students with their selected demographic variables.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
· This study can be conducted with larger sample size among B. Sc (N) students.
· Experimental study can be conducted to assess the effectiveness of direct classes versus online classes.
